A Cowardly Murder in Alabama
Information has been received of the murder of Colonel R. D. Boykin, near Rehoboth, Wilcox County, Ala., on Wednesday evening. The facts reported are very meagre. It is said that two negroes have been arrested and have confessed the crime, stating that they were paid by a white man, name unknown, $35 each to commit the deed. Colonel Boykin was shot in the back from the yard while walking into his house. He was one of the leading citizens of the county, and the murder causes great excitement.
