In Memoriam
Little Dink infant daughter of J. W. and F. D. Britnell died July 19th 1889, “Like a flower from its stem” it has fallen. Bright, amiable and winsome, she had won not only the hearts of her immediate relatives, but of all that knew her. Humanly speaking her life was too short. But who knows. “Faith lends it’s realizing light, the clouds disperse, till shadows fly.” The Judge of all the earth must do right while ‘tis sadly true that:
“The autumn winds rushing
Waft the leaves that serest
But our flower was in blushing
When blighting was nearest,”
Yet He who sends the blighting winds, can in the “still small voice” be heard above the storms of sorrow that sweeps down upon many happy homes. Seldom has it been the experience of the writer to attend a funeral more sad. A large number of friends and relatives were present at the services at the church, and as the grave was closing in upon the little one the gentle rain began to fall as if the clouds were weeping over her untimely death. “Suffer little children to come unto me for of such is the kingdom of Heaven.”
Z. A. Dowling, Pastor.
