Mr. Jim Dozier, one of the chief managers of the political menagerie of Pontotoc county, who is noted for his modesty and retiring disposition, owing to circumstances over which he had control, failed to attend the judicial district convention at Okolona, last week. He had a proxy present, however, in the person of a prominent Monroe county Democrat, who voted for the resolution endorsing George and Walthall and condemning the sub-treasury, and also against seating the Burkitt delegation from Chickasaw county. This would be a very embarrassing predicament for some men to be placed in, but those who know Mr. Dozier haven’t the slightest doubt of his ability to explain the matter to the entire satisfaction of his Alliance friends.
