Mr. E. M. Duck and Miss L. A. Corkern were married at the residence of the bride's father, on the 10th of December, by Elder Thomas Lansdell.
-------o-------
A lamentable accident occurred on the morning of Thursday of last week, at the residence of Isaiah Lea, in the south-eastern part of this county, resulting in the burning to death of Miss Sarah Lea. It is supposed that this lady was carrying a lighted torch from the dwelling to the kitchen, when her clothing got fire, and she was burned to death in the yard. Mr. Lea, her brother, was at the time out at the lot, and on his return to the house found his sister unconscious and in the throes of dissolution which continued only a few hours, when she expired. This excellent family is one of the oldest in our county, and their many friends and acquaintances are in deep and lasting sorrow on account of this sad, sad accident.
