Death of Mrs. Elizabeth Jenkins
On the 7th of December, 1796, Mrs. Elizabeth Jenkins was born in the State of Georgia, but early in life removed with her parents to this county, where she has spent the remainder of her long life.--When quite young she was married to James Jenkins, who preceded her to the grave many years. She leaves surviving her only two children and a few grand-children of whom we may mention her son, Wm. L. Jenkins, and her daughter, Mrs. Amanda Jackson, at whose house she died on last Sunday night, in the 92d year of her age. Our friends Van W. and Leo B. Robinson and James Jenkins are among her grand-children. The most of her life was serene and happy, and spent in the service of the Lord, in whom she placed her trust for eternity. To the last she was fully conscious of her situation, and died as she had lived, in bright hope of a glorious immortality. This Christian lady started upon life's long journey before the dawn of the nineteenth century, and lived to see its afternoon. May her memory be cherished by her numerous friends and relatives through as many generations as she has lived to see come and go.
