Doctor Pepper of the University of Pennsylvania was overall winner with 24 our of 25 at the second shoot of the new Rehoboth Beach Gun Club on grounds near the Henlopen Hotel. Two silver trophies were donated by the duPont and Hurcules Powder Companies
Thursday was a big day at Rehoboth. Two excursions were run here, one over the Pennsylvania Railroad Line and one over the Queen Annes Railroad Line. bringing hundreds of people to this resort.
G. A. Ewing is having races at his driving park and a large crowd was present.
We notice a lot of Georgetown people here almost every evening. The come down by auto, spend the evening sniffing the salt sea breezes and return home for a midnight lunch.
The canners of this section are ready for the season to open. The tomato crop is not overly large but what are on the vines are in good condition.
Most of the rooming houses and boarding houses in the area are full to over running as is usual for this time of the season.
Several building lots have been sold recently and we are expecting many new cottages to be erected before another season.
We noticed on the boardwalk last Sunday the prominent Georgetown lawyer, Alfred F. Polk, Esq. Al came down to get a sniff of the salt air between trains.
Last Sunday was one of the hottest days we have experienced on the beach this summer.
So far as we know there have been on violations of the anti liquor shippig law in the past few days, notwithstanding the order by the express companies to their agents to deliver 'wet' goods in accord with the decision of the court of Kentucky.
Many of our people expect to attend Zion Camp next Sunday.
