OVER THE STATE
J. R. Anderson, who was charged with the murder of Pink Scott in Warrenton last fall, and who has been a large since the sad affair, arrived at his home last Thursday and came immediately to this place and surrendered himself to the Sheriff. Witnesses were summoned at once and a preliminary trial set for Saturday. On account of the Solicitor being absent and still not being within fifty miles of the place action could not be proceeded with. The trial was then postponed until next Saturday, when all will be in readiness. Mr. Anderson says since his departure he has been through California, Texas and several of the Territories. He is in fine spirits, and went to jail willingly, where he will remain until his trial comes off and a bond is fixed.—Guntersville Democrat.
