Robert Humphries having tendered his resignation as Marshal of Sumterville, the Board of Councilmen accepted the same at their last meeting and elected S. E. Wright to fill the vacancy.
M. W. D. Chapman gave bond for $10,000, which was accepted by the Board of County Commissioners of Sumter, and as soon as his commission is received from the Governor he will enter upon the duties of Sheriff.
