OVER THE STATE
-------
Capt. J. W. Tullis, of Eufaula, Ala., is reported by the Spirit of the Times as having said: “Our races last fall were the best we ever had, although we were satisfied that every horse entered was a ringer. We called all the owners together before the start and gave them the advice, ‘Gentlemen, just fix up the races to suit yourselves, but we want no wrangling. We cannot catch up with you. Go it and give us good sport and we will pay you your money.’”
