Montgomery, Ala., Nov. 2.—As a tribute of respect to Gen. Geo. B. McClellan, Col. Thomas C. Jones, of the Second Regiment of Alabama State Troops, today, ordered the Montgomery Artillery to fire a National salute at sunset. Gen. McClellan is universally regarded here by ex-Confederates as the most valiant and generous foe in the time of the late war.
