Mr. Jas. M. Scott, for many years a valuable citizen of Marshall County, but for the last few years a citizen of Madison County, died at his home last week, aged about 70 years.—Guntersville Democrat.
We received a pleasant call from Mr. John Jordan, of Huntsville this week. He was over visiting his brother, D. C. Jordan, and his many other relatives and friends here. Mrs. Hugh Carlisle who had been in New York the past eight months with her brother, Dr. Wyeth, returned to this place last Friday, and is now with her parents on the mountain. Maj. S. Palmer came up from Montgomery Monday night to spend a few days with his family here, but he received a telegram Tuesday evening calling him back; he left yesterday morning.—Guntersville Democrat.
