OVER THE STATE
Judge Hilliard’s lecture on Wm. Lowndes Yancey, at Montgomery, was a highly entertaining intellectual feast.
In the city court of Montgomery, Mr. E. P. Morrissette was acquitted of the charge of assault with intent to murder upon Major R. B. Snodgrass, city clerk. The jury was composed of ten white men and two negroes. It was out about an hour and a half.—Dispatch.
