Description: Board of Aldermen Meet to Elect New Member

Last Saturday night the Board of Aldermen met for the purpose of electing an Alderman, to fill the unexpired term of John J. Leach. After casting about them in search of a competent man, Jas. L. Jordan was unanimously elected. We congratulate Mr. Jordon, and beg to suggest to the Board that a few hitching posts would be about as good an investment as the Board could make. Countrymen very often have their wagons broken or turned over and teams frightened simply from the lack of this convenience.—Guntersville Democrat.
