Mr. F. G. Chew and Miss Annie Malone were married in the M. E. Church in this place Thursday by Rev. J. B. Gregory, the pastor.—Athens Courier.

Hon. Wm. N. Hayes, of South Limestone, has been invited to deliver an address to the Masonic fraternity of Athens at their meeting on the first Monday night in December; a treat is in store for all who may hear him.—Athens Courier.

Mr. S. O. Nelson, one of our oldest and best citizens, has been tendered the superintendency of the “Gulf City Oil Mills” in Mobile and left on last night’s train to assume the responsible duty of the office. Mr. Nelson was, for many years, one of the leading commercial men of New Orleans, and one of the largest sugar planters in La., and he needs no recommendation at our hands for no man in the south is more extensively and favorably known.—Athens Courier.
