The presiding officer of the Alabama Conference, which met here last week, was Bishop A. W. Wilson, formerly editor of the Baltimore Advocate. He is a man of fine presence and is probably one of the most accomplished parliamentarians in the country. He rules promptly and fairly on the most intricate questions. We understand that he was formerly a distinguished lawyer and that he gave up a legal practice of $10,000 per annum to enter the Methodist Itinerancy.—Union Spring Herald.
