Alabama is Free of Bubonic Plague
By The Associated Press
Montgomery, Ala., July 15.—Alabama is free of bubonic plague. Dr. S. W. Welch, state health officer, this afternoon announced that investigations had shown that the suspicious case found at Dothan late Tuesday afternoon was not the plague but a case which demanded the attention of a surgeon. The person suffering from the trouble had come from Panama City, Fla., and his physicians being uncertain of the case had notified the health officers as a precaution. A representative of the state health department was sent to Dothan at once and the health officers of Florida and Georgia were notified that there was a suspicious case there.
