Rev. Percy Gordon conducted religious services in St. Paul’s church here last Sunday. It was his first attempt to preach a regular sermon, at least to this congregation, and unlike most of the clergy of his church, he did not read his discourse from a manuscript but spoke extempore. The services were quite interesting and the sermon, considering Mr. Gordon’s pulpit practice and experience, was very creditable. He is a man of good address, pleasing manners and has quite a clerical appearance. He will preach here again on the 20th of September.—Decatur News.
