OVER THE STATE
Mr. J. V. Bergrene, a Swede who bought land near town and moved to it last winter, has just returned from an extended visit to Chicago and through Illinois generally. He went there in the interest of immigration to North Alabama. In reply to the question what is the prospect? He said pleasantly, I told them if they would come South the old Rebs would not shoot them nor fry them for breakfast. Mr. Bergrene thinks that the low price of land and the mild winters here will induced many of his Swedish brethren to come South and that ere long a colony numbering hundreds will cultivate the lands of the far-famed Tennessee Valley. The Messrs. Nelson, real agents, concur in the same opinion.—Decatur News.
