Coolly Sought Death
New York, Oct. 2.—A man supposed to have been Davis A. McRitchie, of Wiscasset, Me., jumped from the pier at West Twelfth Street today, swam 100 feet and sank. He evidently destroyed himself with most remarkable calmness, for in his hat, which he laid upon the pier, was a letter giving instruction to notify relations, and included his last will and testament. The latter stated that he desired his baggage at an uptown hotel, should be forwarded to David J. McRitchie, Washington, D. C.
