STATE MISSION BOARD
Appropriates $15,000 to
Aid Weak Baptist Churches
Mr. R. E. Pettus has returned from Montgomery where he attended the annual meeting of the Baptist State Board of Missions. The sum of $15,000 was apportioned to various work throughout the state. A majority of the Baptist Churches in this part of the state were given appropriations.
Rev. W. B. Crumpton submitted his annual report to the Board. He spoke on the increased appropriation for missions as decided on by the Troy convention, which calls for $45,000 to be divided into Home, Southern and Foreign Missions. The increase amounts to $900, but Dr. Crumpton expressed the belief that with proper energy and faithfulness the increase could be easily raised.
G. G. Miles of Montgomery, President of the Board, was re-elected, W. B. Davidson of Montgomery, was re-elected Recording Secretary and Rev. W. G. Crumpton, D. D., was re-elected Corresponding Secretary and Treasurer.
