Handles a Number of Matters

Montgomery, Ala., Nov. 8.-At its meeting the Alabama railroad commission made a rate of $1.25 a bale on cotton from Tiberta [Alberta] to Mobile. The following docket was handled: W. J. Rutland et. al. vs. Central of Georgia, petition for better depot facilities at Fitzpatrick. Improvements having been made, the case was dismissed.
G. G. Skinner et. al. vs. Southern railway, better depot facilities at Sunflower. Petition denied because of insufficient revenue.
Wellington Vandiver, mayor of Talladega. Continued to Dec. 13, at which time the commission will meet at Talladega to take the matter up.
Menefee & Doak vs. Southern, cotton rate from Alberta to Mobile. Rate of $1.25 per bale approved, and charges since September over that rate will be refunded to shippers and consignees.
The Bigbee River railroad application for approval of local freight tariffs approved.
