John D. Johnston was today granted a divorce from his wife, Columnia E. Johnston on the ground of wilful desertion. The property rights of the parties were settled by agreement and confirmed by the court in the decree.

Alyce Hawley has been awarded a decree of divorce from her husband, Phillip J. Hawley, on the ground of non-support. The parties have one child the custody of which was awarded to the plaintiff.

Rev. Geo. A. Johnson this morning united in marriage Martin Mathison and Mathilda Peterson, both of the Deary neighborhood.

After a wedded life of 41 years, Carl Petrick of Juliaetta is being sued for a divorce by his wife, Mary Petrick.

L.D. Courtwright, a Spokane fire laddy, was badly but not seriously injured a few days ago while on the way to a fire. Mr. Courtwright about a year ago came to Moscow and married Miss Cora Hanzen.

T.A. Smith, a resident of Moscow for a number of years, died Wednesday afternoon [December 15]. Mr. Smith had been sick for several weeks and the end was expected. The body was returned to Chicago to be buried beside friends gone before.

Stephen Bidlake and Eunice Kinman, of the Princeton country, were united in marriage by M.W. Griffith, justice of the peace, yesterday. After a brief honey moon Mr. and Mrs. Bidlake will settle down on a farm and begin life in earnest.

A.W. Boles of Viola and Mrs. Dola Price of Moscow, were married at the M.E. parsonage at four o'clock Wednesday evening [December 15], Rev. Robert Warner officiating. Mr. Boles is in the general mercantile business at Viola, where the happy couple will make their future home.
