On 11th inst., at the residence of Mr William RAND, by Joseph YEARGIN, Esq.,
Mr. Rhodes W. NICHOLS to Miss Martha E. NEWBY, all of Wake County. Also by
the same, at his residence at Forest Mills, on the 25th inst., Mr. George
W. BISHAP to Miss Mary Anne SMEDE, all of Wake County.

Execution of a Negro. Amherst Court House Oct. 23d, 1857. ANTHONY, a slave.
Hung for murderous attack on a white man, was this day privately executed.
He had a brother that was hung also.
