Married. December 28th, 1873 at Clermont, Iowa by Rev. Sidney SMITH, Mr. George D. BEATON, of Postville to Miss Lizzie WICKHAM, of Clermont.

Died. Friday, Dec 20, of heart disease, Mr. SEWELLEN. Monona will greatly miss so influential a friend and neighbor, but we trust he has gone to meet the reward of the blest.

Died. December 29th, 1873, Inez, only daughter of J.F. and M.C. BRADELY; after a long and painful illness darling Inez sweetly went to sleep. "Suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of heaven."

J.C. VAUPEL, of Elkader, ex-Treasurer of Clayton county, a few days since departed for parts unknown, leaving behind him a wife and eight children. He was an old settler, and much respected. It is said that recently, VAUPEL's wife received a letter from him stating that he would never return. Mental depression is given as the cause.
