New York City, New York March 13 1897:
The identity of a New York City woman, murdered and thrown into the Broadkill Creek at Milton, Delaware, Thursday night, has been established by the janitor, Thorndale, of 2613 8th Street, the former home of the identified, Mrs John M Gordy, the widow of an ink manufacturer of this city, Mr. Lewis. A week ago Mrs Lewis announced her marriage, sold the ink company which was left to her by her former husband, and with the money from the sale went to take up life with her new husband, Gordy, a farmer near Milton, Delaware.
