Fallon Man Held By Nazis

Missing in Action since 28 Sep 1944, Staff Sgt Walter E. RECHEL, sent a card to his mother, Mrs. A. (Anna) F. (Frances) RECHEL of Fallon Monday, stating he was a prisoner of war in Germany.
Attached to the 4th armored division of the 3rd Army when reported Missing In Action, SGT RECHEL entered the service in 1942 after graduating from Chyrchill county high school.
His wife, LaRae and son now reside in Concord, California, and his sisters Mrs. James MORTENSEN (Rees Sophie RECHEL) and Mrs. Harry KETSDEVER (Fernley Henrietta RECHEL) reside in Pamona, California and Reno, Nevada respectively. He has an uncle W.E. (Walter) ELLESER who lives in Fallon.
