Grace Greenwood Marries

Grace GREENWOOD, the popular and gifted American poetess and authoress, was married on Monday evening, October 17, 1853, at 8 o'clock, in the village church adjoining her parents' residence at New Brighton, Beaver County, Pennsylvania. She and her husband, Leander K. Lippincott, will reside in Philadelphia where Mrs. Lippincott will edit The Little Pilgrim, the paper for children, a notice of which we published some weeks ago. - The Philadelphia Register.

[Transcriber's Note: Grace Greenwood was born Sara Jane Clarke in Pompey, NY. She likely took her pseudonym from the school she attended, the Greenwood Institute, an academy for young ladies. She died in 1904 in New Rochelle, NY.]
