On Thursday evening of last week, the many friends of Doctor W.W. JAMES andMiss Loula McCORMICK assembled at the Presbyterian church to witness the
beautiful ceremony which united the happy pair in wedlock. The church under
the supervision of Mrs. Robert HOLMAN. Mrs. Adele CRAWFORD presided at the
organ The ceremony performed by Rev. R.S. BURWELL The bridal party with
a number of friends repaired tot he mansion of Judge McCORMICK and partook
of a splendid supper prepared under the supervision of the Judge's estimable
wife. (this is during the period of the United States Federal Court's
location in Graham and Judge McCORMICK resided in the plantation type home
at 710 Cherry)
A quiet but happy marriage occurred at the residene of Mr. W.R. BIGHAM on
Tuesday afternoon where Mr. W.V. BIGHAM and Miss Cora WOODS were united
The ceremony performed by Rev. R.S. BURWELL. The bride was one of Graham's
most estimable and popular young ladies is the daugther of Judge WOODS and
possesses all the accomplishments and characteristics of true womanhood and
he who has won this prize is indeed fortunate. The groom is well known as
one of our most prominent young cattle men and has a host of friends
We regret to learn the misfortune of "Uncle Dick" RICHARDSON on Brushy in
which his smoke house containing his supply of meat, four saddles, a set of
harness and other articles were entirely consumed. The fire is supposed to
have originated fromthe fire used in smoking meat.
Mr. W.G. BROWN of Evansville, Indiana of the firm of BROWN Brothers and Co.,
stock raisers, arrived here last week to visist his sons, Charlie and Ed.
There were lots of "red eye" consumed in town on Monday but no disturbances
resulted therefrom.
