Tom S. Ueltschey died Friday night
Preminent and popular contractor succumbs to attack of appendicitis
Tom S. Ueltschey, popular and prominent local contractor and builder, died at the Hamilton Sanitarium Friday night of last week at about 9:00. He was operated on Tuesday night, but owing to the fact that the operation was too long delayed, he never had a chance to recover.
His sister, from Tulia, Texas, and one of his brothers from Mississippi were here at the time of his death, and the body was shipped to his old home in Tennessee for interment Saturday morning.
Nearly 11 years ago, when the writer came to Olney, he remembers as one of the first citizens he met Tom Ueltschey. He was a quiet, unassuming, honest, straightfordward citizen, and a man whom it was a pleasure and a privilege to know. H ehad not lived in Olney continuously ofr all of this time, but had spent some three years out on the Plains, having returned to Olney some few months ago, and since his return has been associated with the W.C. Bowman Lumber Company and had charge of the construction work on many of the newer and better homes in the city.
He was a member of the Methodist church and a Mason.
