Megargel School to Open Next MondayMegargel Public School will open Monday, September 20th. All the teachers have been elected and we wish to state that we have a strong faculty, each holding a first or higher grade certificate.
Miss Cecil Carter, of Seymour, will have charge of our music, and Miss Homing, of Portales, New Mexico, who is a graduate of Woodrow School of Expression, at Dallas, Texas, will have charge of the expression work. Miss Carter and Miss Homing come to us highly recommended, and we bespeak for Megargel a successful year.

The Panhandle Refinery No. 1 is located just north of the Graham lake.
The Roxana Petroleum Company has taken the lead in Young County operations and is reported to have another well, their No. 2 Goode, making 50 barrels from the sand at 2120 feet. No. 1 Boozier is estimated good for around 75 barrels from the 1850 sand. There is more than 1,000 feet of open hole in this well which is to be cased up as soon as it is cleaned out. THe Roxana’s No. 1 Panye is also expected to enter the producing ranks shortly, being on the oil snad at 2,200 feet, with the hole filled with oil to within a few hundred feet of the top.
The Roxana’s two deep wells, the No. 1 Goode, which is now below 4,000 feet, and the No. 1 Ford, 2680 feet, are also showing some oil. The No. 1 Goode will be remembered in making a large amount of gas from the 4,000 foot depth over a year ago, when this sand was first entered. THis gas was used for fuel in drilling the No. 2 Goode of the Roxana and also supplied other drilling outfits nearby. the well had been shut down until recently, when drilling deeper was started. It is now making some oil and about a half million cubic feet of gas, while fishing for lost tools is in progress. Drilling Summary:

Mrs. Alma Martin and little son, Robert B., spent days in graham.
Misses Winnie Dees and Nell Martin and Raymond Myrick were in Graham.
Mrs. Charles Mothes left Wednesday for Seymour to visit her mother.

J.P. Alexander returned form Dallas on business for the Alexander Company.
Smith Groves attended the State Democratic Convention. He also spent a day with his daughter, Buford, at Weatherford.
Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Jones of Buffalo Springs visited their sons George and J.J. Jones of Olney last week.
Mrs. John Green of Wolf City has been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Meaders.
Mrs. W.L. Jones left Sunday for Fort Worth to take another treatment for cataarh.
Miss Bernice O’Neal went to Wichita Falls to meet her friend, Miss May Belle Guthrie, of St. Petersburg, Florida.
There are 12 teachers in the school this year and all of them single, so must find places to board.
