William Herron of Darlington township, is supporting a new Buick Sedan of which he purchased of George Hornstein.
O Turgeon, of LaRoche township, was in the city Tuesday on business, Mr Turgeon and wife are planning on spending the winter in California.
John O'Hara, living northwest of the city, boarded the cars Thursday morning for Hot Springs, S D, where he will spend the remainder of the winter in the Soldiers' Home.
The following stock shipments left Platte this week for the Sioux City markets;
Farmers Union, a car of hogs
Hans Anderson, a car of hogs
Andrew Johnson, a car of cattle
J M Tuckerman, a car of cattle
Percy Joslyn had the misfortune to get one of his hands in a corn husker at his home in Castalia township last Saturday and as a consequence is short a thumb and a part of his forefinger. His hand was also badly lacerated. It took fifteen minutes to release the unfortunate. Percy proved game, however and stood the dressing of the wound without hardly a quiver.
