Description: Funeral For Gun Victim, Ornelas

Date: August 23 1955

Funeral services for Bonifacio "Bonnie" ORNELAS, well known Tonopah resident who was shot to death 14 Aug at Carver's Bar in Smokey Valley, were conducted Thursday from the Tonopah Funeral Home. The Rev. Theodore A. VAN SKEE, pastor of the St. Patrick's parish performed the last rites of the Catholic Church.
Burial was made in the Catholic plot of the local cemetery and casket bearers were; Roy VISCARRA, Joe FLOREZ, Enlogio FABIAN, Frank DEL PAPA, Martin VENEGAS and Barney FLOREZ.
Mr ORNELAS was born 19 Nov 1905 in San Juan de los Lagois, Mexico, he had been a resident of the Tonopah area for many years. He had been employed as a bartender and miner. His wife, Taxine ORNELAS preceded him in death in May 1954.
