Description: School Master Gives Notice He Has Not Run Away From The Talbot County School.
Date: September 5 1745Newspaper published in: Philadelphia, PA
Elizabeth-Town, N. Jersey, Aug. 27. 1745.
Whereas an advertisement has been published in the Pennsylvania Gazette by W. GOLDSBOROUGH, in behalf of the visitors of Talbot County School, purporting that the subscriber, Master of said school, had run away with a negroe man and two geldings belonging to the said school. This is to inform whom it may concern, that tho' from his long stay the visitors might think they had reason to imagine he was run away, yet he had no such intention; for as he acted openly in coming away, so he was on his return from New-York, when taken sick at this place of the bloody flux, where he still continues extremely ill, and being unable to travel, sent back the negroe and horses with a pass, and money to bear their expenses home; and designs to follow them, if it please God that he recovers, having a crop there on the ground, with some stock, goods and debts, to receive.
