Ruth A. Dolbeare, 89, of Auburn, formerly of Springfield, died at 12:45 a.m. Monday, Nov. 24, 2008 at Auburn Nursing & Rehab.
Ruth was born May 29, 1919 in Timewell, IL the daughter of Joseph T.& Elvaree C. (Clark) Utter. Ruth married Donald P. Dolbeare Aug. 31, 1940 in Nashua, Iowa; he passed away March 15, 2002.
Ruth received scholarships from Rushville School and LaPrairie High School. Ruth worked for a bank and retired as a teller. Ruth was a member of the Glenarm Methodist Church and loved her grandchildren and enjoyed taking care of her home.
Surviving Ruth are her sons, Ben (Debbie) Dolbeare of Chatham, Ed (Christy) Dolbeare of Salem, Steve Dolbeare of Caldwell, ID, daughters, Sandra (Stan) Likes of Pawnee, Naomi (Clark) Mefford of Ottumwa, IA, Donna DeGroot of Springfield, sister, Dorothy Robbins of LaPrairie, 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald P. Dolbeare and brothers, Charles and Glenn Utter.
Funeral services for Ruth will be held at the Pawnee Christian Church, Nov. 28, 2008 at 12 p.m. with Pastor Scott Yates officiating. Visitation will be from 1 a.m. - 12 p.m. Nov. 28, 2008 also at the church. Pallbearers: Brian DeGroot, Joe Mefford, Steve Likes, Kevin Dolbeare, Chris Mefford, Nathan Dolbeare, Shelley Turner, Karen Hunt, Sherry Annis, Elizabeth Hopkins, Brigit Greuel, Amy Dolbeare, Teena Wright and Maria LeCrone. Pianist, Kris Dolbeare and music leader, Jared LaCrone. Memorials may be made to a W.W. II Memorial. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Please sign the guest book at:
