June A. Baughman, age 84, of the Griggsville Estates Boarding Home in Griggsville and formerly of Pittsfield, died late Tuesday evening, Nov. 18, 2008 at the boarding home.
Born June 15, 1924 in Perry, daughter of the late William and Ollie Sutton Urven.
She married Robert L. Baughman June 4, 1949 in Bowling Green, Mo. sharing their life together on the family farm in rural Pittsfield until he passed in December of 2006.
Surviving is one daughter, Pat Mellon-Bartlett and special friend William Lowe of Lake St. Louis, Mo.; two grandsons, Gary R. Mellon and wife Betsy of Lake St. Louis, Mo. and Steven M. Mellon and wife Steffanie of Valley Village, Cali.; one great-grandson, Trey Michael Mellon of Lake St. Louis, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant son, Kermit Michael; two brothers, an infant brother and Clyde Urven; and sisters, Ethel Sneeden, Ruby Chaplin, and Nola Main.
June worked 11 years for the Brown Shoe Factory in Pittsfield, later attending night school, earning a degree to work for Community Care Services. June spent most of her life running the family farm and providing care for many Pike County elderly.
Graveside services will be held at noon Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008 at the Pittsfield West Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to graveside Saturday at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Pittsfield First Christian Church, Hospice of Pike County, Pittsfield West Cemetery or to the Griggsville Estates.
