George Hernleben was attacked last Tuesday with severe pain in the intestines, which was diagnosed as volvulus, or twisting of the intestines. He was brought to the hospital Thursday and an operation performed yesterday, from which he apparently rallied, but shortly after began breathing heavily and expired, the shock of the operation proving too severe for his system. He had been a resident of the Comstock since 186O, and was employed in the Gould & Curry mine in that year. Lately he has been employed in the Ophir and worked a shlft there last Monday. He leaves a widow, two daughters and one son, the latter three members of the family reaiding in Mason Valley, The deceased had been a reaident of Sevenmile Canyon for many years. He was a native of Germany, aged about 65 years. The body was taken to Kuhn's undertaking parlors and will be shipped to Wabuska on Sunday morning's train.
