Ruby E. Fuller, age 85, formerly of Rockport, IL passed away Monday, March 16, 2009 at the Barry Community Care Center in Barry, IL. She was born in Shrum, MO July 21, 1923 to Peter F. and Della C. Robbins Rhodes. She married Everett M. Fuller on September 16, 1966 and he preceded her in death on November 11, 1977.

Besides being a homemaker Ruby was a cook at the school in Rockport and also operated a restaurant in Rockport. She was a member of the Rockport Methodist Church and enjoyed quilting, baking Christmas cookies, gardening, making pickles, playing pitch and listening to country western music. She especially loved her family and spending time with them.

She is survived by 3 sons; Dean (Joyce) Kirby and Don (Marsha) Kirby of Rockport and Ron (Caroline) Kirby of New Canton, IL. 3 brothers; Clayton, Charles (Leora) and Winfred (Carol) Rhodes all of Marble Hill, MO. A sister; Mrs. Anna Mae (Pearley) Irvin also of Marble Hill, MO. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 4 brothers; Robert, Paul and Delmer Rhodes and a brother in infancy and a sister Juanita Brown.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 19, 2009 at the Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry with Rev. Sheila Kelly officiating. Burial be at the Samuel Taylor Cemetery near Rockport following the services. Visitation will be from 12:30 2:00 pm prior to the services at the funeral chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Barry Community Care Center Activity Fund or the Blessing Hospice of Pike County. The Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry is handling the arrangements.
