Description: FOUND DEAD
Billy Armstrong Dies Suddenly

Date: January 31 1900

Newspaper published in: Virginia City

Source: Library microfilm

William Armstrong, a colored man who has resided in this city for more than 30 years, was found dead at his cabin in the rear of the Con. Virginia office. He had not been seen since Sunday and yesterday friends went to his home to investigate with the result that he was found seated in a chair dead. He had probably died some time during Monday, and death is supposed to have resulted from heart disease. He probably had a premonition that something was about to happen to him, as a few days ago he told an acquaintance he thought he would die suddenly.

Deceased had been employed as a bootblack at several of the barber shops in this city. He was a native of the West Indian Islands, aged about 76 years.
