Joseph Pleva Dies

Minonk Citizen Passes Away on Tuesday, Aged Eighty Years

Joseph Pleva died at the county farm at Metamora on Tuesday, where he had made his home for the past three months. He had been sick with dropsical ailments since last spring.

The remains were brought to Minonk the same evening and funeral services will be held at St Patrick's church tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock, with burial at the Catholic cemetery.

The deceased was born in Germany on March 19, 1840, but he had lived in Minonk during the past 50 years, during most of which time he was employed in the coal mine. Three children survive: Mrs Agnes Wright of San Antonio, Texas; Mrs Tony Miller of Chicago, and Robert Pleva, of Minonk.
