Morrill J. Curtis, connected with the building of Reno since its infancy, passed away in San Francisco this morning. He was the architect of many of Reno's most prominent structures, including the first buildings at the university and insane asylum, the Overland hotel and the city hall.
Last December he was taken to San Francisco for his health and he has been gradually failing since that time. He was seventy-two years of age and had lived in Reno nearly all his life, coming here from his birthplace in Vermont. His wife was at his bedside when the end came.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons, a daughter, and a brother, Bart Curtis of Reno. One of his sons is attending the military academy at West Point and the funeral will take place upon the arrival of this son from the East, some time this week.
The remains will be brought from San Francisco tomorrow and the funeral arrangements will be announced later.
