FAIRFIELD, Texas, March 22 (AP) – Charges of forgery today were filed here against Mrs. Sarah Jane Dodd, 50 and her son, Tommie Dodd, 30, in connection with the signing of the G. S. Moore’s name to a $250 check for which Miss William Jones, 23, was also charged. The charges against the woman and her son were filed after state rangers were sent here to investigate an alleged attempt to burn Miss Jones to death in a hotel room Wednesday night.
Mrs. Dodd and her son were arrested at their home in Buffalo, near here, and later placed in the Fairfield jail. J. E. Lott, Justice of the Peace, said they would be given a preliminary hearing Monday. Miss Jones was said to have lived at the Dodd home.
