SIGNAL DRILL AT GEORGETOWN
Blue and Gray Ready for the Last Hard Scrimmage.
Although the ‘varsity had a scrimmage with a strong scrub team, signal work constituted the principal feature of the practice at Georgetown field yesterday. After it was over Dr. REILLY said that a stiff scrimmage this afternoon will practically complete the preparation for the Virginia game Saturday, as the team will be out for only a short time to-morrow.
Determined to stop GLOTH, Virginia’s snapper back, every effort is being made to strengthen the center of the line, and since the Carolina game, REILLY has had CULLEN, the tackle, alternating at center with BUCKLEY, who played the position last year. It has not yet been decided who will play the position, but no more changes are expected in the lineup.
The mass meeting which was scheduled for last night in the Law School Building was postponed until this evening. Howard SMITH, president of “The Yard.” and captain of last year’s baseball team, will be in charge of the cheering section Saturday.
