Cannon’s Home Site Sensational Inquiry
By Associated Press
Danville, Ill., Jan. 26 – The grand jury demands upon Judge Kimbrough, Mayor Platt and other prominent political leaders to appear before it in its probe election bribery charges, were the features of session. Judge Kimbrough is the man who started the investigation, ruling that elections before his election could not be looked into. The ruling was ignored by the jurors who promised “thorough inquiry.” Testimony Earl Chambers, garage owner that he drove Judge Kimbrough and Mayor Platt about town on election day with large amount of money is expected to afford important leads. This is Speaker Cannon’s home district. Many conferences were held last night. Leaders in local politics are alleged attempt to hush the inquiry.
