By Associated Press
Washington, March 7 – Richard A. Ballinger, secretary of the interior, has resigned. It was made known today that he sent in resignation on January 19, basing his action wholly on state of health. The president then expressed reluctance to accept, assured him confidence of administration and requested secretary to serve until congress adjourned. Immediately upon adjournment secretary renewed request that he be allowed to quit today and the president accepted. Ballinger will be succeeded by Walter L. Fisher, of Chicago.
