Description: Deaths of Henry and Clara DavisDate: August 13 1901
Newspaper published in: Tucson
Many Tucsonians (sic) will remember Henry Davis, the clever and gentlemanly first baseman of the Grays, who was married here in April last year to Miss Clara Moore, of Iola, Kansas, the bride traveling west to meet her expectant husband. Last fall the young couple left for Southern Oregon. In June the STAR reported the death of Henry Davis near Klamath, May 29, the result of an accident, his gun falling, and the contents entering Davis’ body, from which he died a few days later.
The father of Mrs. Davis was summoned from Kansas and returned to the old home with the afflicted young wife, who never recovered from the shock and died July 10, six weeks to a day, following the accidental death of her husband. Mrs. Davis was 21 years of age at the time of her death.
The young couple were greatly devoted to each other. In Tucson they had formed a number of acquaintances during their brief stay here.
