Newspaper published in: Tucson
The remains of Bishop Lot Smith of the Mormon church were brought in from Tuba City and shipped to Salt Lake City, Utah, for final interment. Lot Smith was killed by a Navajo Indian nearly ten years ago in an affray in which he was the aggressor. He was a prominent member of the Mormon church in the earlier days of its history in Utah. The last years of his life were spent on a ranch in one of the most isolated spots in Arizona. The remains were brought from Tuba City by Bishop D. Brinkerhoff. President Jesse N. Smith of Snowflake accompanied the remains of the pioneer bishop to Salt Lake.
