Reno, Nev., Oct. 16 – Major Harry Smith and Lieutenant Allen, observer, eastbound were forced to land in a field six miles east of Fernley, Nevada, this morning, and their DeHaviland machine is a total wreck.
The men escaped injury. Fernley is forty miles east of Reno.
