Description: Panther Killed By a Boy.

Date: June 28 1860

Newspaper published in: San Francisco, Ca.

A full grown panther was recently killed near Mariposa by Edward SKELTON, a boy 13 years of age. The animal, says the Mariposa Star, was sitting in a tree top, having just made a meal off a fawn. The boy fired at him, the ball taking effect through the loins - just grazing the backbone, and crippling him so that he could not jump. He very coolly loaded his rifle again and gave him the second shot, which brought him down. The skin was been stuffed and will be preserved as a trophy, of which even a full grown man might be proud.
