A stray mare, taken up by Aaron GROOM of Loutre township, and posted before Silvester BAKER, a justice of the peace of the State and county aforesaid, and we find the said stray to be a dark chestnut sorrel mare, ..... appraised to thirty-five dollars, by us appraisers, this 5th day of May, 1831. Jacob GROOM, Joseph COUNTS.
Taken, sworn and subscribed to, before me Silvester BAKER a justice of the peace, this 5th day of May, 1831.

ROYSTON Esquire, a justice of the peace for the township of Jefferson, county of Cole, do certify that we have viewed the said stray and find him to be a sorrel horse, ..... appraised to thirty dollars.
