Lieutenant H.J. WEST has returned to Marceline from Cuba where he had made a
popular officer and was a favorite not only with regimental officers but
with his men as well. He was attired in citizens garb and was ready to
resume his law practice.

Capt. A. McVEY, of Chillicothe, heads a project to erect in that place a
monument in honor of Nelson KNEASS, author of "Ben Bolt." KNEASS died and
was buried in Chilicothe in 1869.

J.H. BOWERS, who for 24 consecutive years has been treaurer of Bucklin,
turned over his books to M.A. SHELTON, his successor.

Will PERKINS has left Linneus for Exceisior Springs where he has accepted a
position as pharmacist for the Howard Drug Company at that place.

Dr. H.P. HANNING, of Iowa, has located in Purdin.

Miss Corriune COLGAN, of Linneus, graduated from Kansas City High School.
